The expectations of this role will grow with time and is an opportunity for the right individual. Company core competencies are in manufactured aircraft type sub-assemblies, contoured sheet metal and small to medium CNC machined parts. Familiarity with processes, as well as specifications for welding, aluminum heat treat, sheet metal forming methods, aircraft assembly techniques, inspection methods, CNC & manual machining techniques required. Daily responsibilities will include development and maintenance of processes and work instructions, as well as supporting shop floor with all required technical needs. This will include, but not limited to shop assist drawings and written instructions as needed to clearly convey work instructions and inspection requirements. Will be utilizing software packages such as MS office products, Global Shop ERP system, and Key Creator (CAD).
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Review customer requirements and create new/modify existing processes. Translate processes into ERP system. Will include, but not limited to, Bill of Materials (BOM), outside vendor processing, tooling, gauges, CNC programs, inspection, and quality requirements. Process improvements working independently and/or as a team to continuously improve processes for ease of manufacture that will generate cost and time savings. Assist in designing tooling and fixtures for manufacturing as needed support the production and of parts and processes. Work with customer supplied traditional 3D drawings, as well as Model Based Definition (MBD) parts to translate requirements and information to the shop floor. Evaluate parts in MRB to determine if reworking is required. Will be working closely with the following departments: Quality, Quoting and Production.
Qualifications & Skills:
Understanding of drawing standards and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is required. Must have interest in aerospace industry, experience with sheet metal and CNC machining is required. Ability to apply critical thinking skills as well as common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to diagnosis shop floor issues during manufacturing. Must be able to work under moderate supervision independently as well as within a team. Experience with CAD software's and ERP systems are required. Must have Solidworks/CATIA experience Professionalism and discretion are required as you will represent the company when interacting with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
