Job Description
Job Summary The Manufacturing Engineer position consists of responding to manufacturing issues and apply cross-functional problem-solving skills to identify solutions. Supports new product development in providing manufacturing input to support test system development and design for manufacturability. Duties/Responsibilities Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods (equipment, tooling, and materials) Design new equipment, processes, procedures, and workspace for maximum efficiency Ensure manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards. Consult product design and tooling with development team to ensure efficient production methods. Respond to breakdowns, investigate production problems, and repair equipment. Communicate with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of materials, equipment, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards. Consult with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities to facilitate production processes. Update assembly/work instructions and prepare reports. Determining problem resolutions and implement improvements. Required skills/abilities Able to provide technical leadership to production personnel Effective and frequent written and oral communication to technical team Balance workloads between various engineering projects and manufacturing demands Evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery. Work with minimal supervision to support production and new product development needs. Knowledge, Education, and Experience Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) Experience in manufacturing engineering environment Experience using SolidWorks. Physical Requirements (if applicable) Sitting/standing for long periods of time
