This is a manufacturing engineer role that is aligned with a specific product or product family versus all manufacturing within a plant. As a Product Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be responsible for supporting the manufacturing operations & driving improvements in quality as well as delivery for a specific part or part family. You'll write work instructions & manufacturing documentation, identify and implement process improvements, be responsible for the FAI process (training, reviewing documentation, approving FAIR prior to submitting to customers), and ensuring processes support AS9100 requirements. This position requires knowledge of AS9100 and FAI.
Responsibilities:
With specific parts ownership, this role will provide support to the business for identifying and implementing manufacturing process improvements across multiple process steps that span the full manufacturing value stream of the assigned parts. Identify, track, and coordinate execution of projects that support reducing Cost of Poor Quality, and improve operational capacity using project management skills in a multi-disciplined environment Identify & implement process optimization & process control methods to eliminate quality turn backs/escapes and reduce overall product costs through the specific process. Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming products for responsible processes using statistical analysis tools and other methods as necessary Support the project pipeline process to select, prioritize, and scope projects to business objectives, integrated with other continuous improvement activities and CORE initiatives. Lead significant projects critical to improve manufacturing process capability & quality performance through the assigned processes Work instruction updates, First Article Inspection AS9102
Qualifications:
B.S. in Mechanical/Aerospace/Manufacturing Engineering or related field and 3+ years' experience or Master's degree with a minimum of 1+ year experience in Manufacturing related field. Working knowledge of FAI and AS9100 is required Prior experience writing working instructions, manufacturing process improvement Experience project managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously Experience reading and interpreting blueprints U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract Demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities Demonstrated proficiency leading and managing a portfolio of cross functional projects What happens next: Once you apply, you'll proceed to next steps if your skills and experience look like a good fit.
