Project Engineer Handi-Foil, an industry leader in the manufacture, sale, marketing and distribution of disposable aluminum bakeware, has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer at our manufacturing facility in Antioch, IL. This privately held company has been in business for over forty years and is experiencing strong growth year after year. The Project Engineer will contribute to the team from concept through the prototype and production stage of multiple product lines. Responsibilities Provide engineering support to ensure the most efficient processes and operating systems to minimize scrap/material usage and downtime by working with manufacturing and maintenance team. Participate in project management of factory automation projects and changes to processes and equipment. Generation and maintenance of product drawings and project documentation and coordinating activities around standardization, documentation and control. Champion continuous improvement of production layouts, methods and processes to maximize material flow and plant efficiencies Supporting cross-functional teams in the development of new products Assist in packaging design Ensure quality control methods are in place Perform capacity analysis and recommend need for new equipment Evaluate, maintain and improve efficiency of the operation Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical) Minimum of 3 years of prior Manufacturing Engineering experience Ability and willingness to do hands-on work in the manufacturing facility Strong computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint required) Experience using 2D/3D CAD Software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks Preferred) Excellent problem-solving capability and communication skills (verbal and written) Organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Creative mindset with attention to product design General understanding of manufacturing processes, material, and component selection Demonstrated experience with prototyping, testing, and reporting results is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
