Senior Automation Engineer -
Medical Device Manufacturing Location :
Buffalo Grove, IL (Onsite)
Compensation :
$135k to $155K base + 5% bonus

Join a global medical device manufacturing organization where your automation expertise will directly impact product quality, operational efficiency, and scalable production. This role offers cross-site visibility and the opportunity to influence automation strategy in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. What You'll Do Lead automation engineering initiatives across the Buffalo Grove and Libertyville manufacturing sites Partner with OEMs on new equipment design, development, and production integration Drive continuous improvement and redesign efforts for existing automated systems Collaborate with Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations teams Design, specify, implement, and maintain automation equipment, tooling, and applications Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for mechanical automation solutions, ensuring compliance, reliability, and scalability Travel occasionally to the Austin, TX headquarters as needed What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline 8+ years of automation engineering experience in regulated manufacturing environments (medical device preferred) Strong background in equipment design, implementation, and process optimization Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar CAD platforms Proven ability to lead projects, manage OEM relationships, and provide enterprise-level technical guidance
Preferred Experience:
