Job Title:
Manufacturing Engineer Level 4 Job Description The main function of a Manufacturing Engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to solve problems related to industrial layout or manufacturing production. This role requires the ability to create engineering drawings and to read and interpret blueprints effectively. Responsibilities Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency. Review worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets to verify adherence to quality assurance specifications. Review and approve work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays. Review charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization. Evaluate data and reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within equipment capability limits. Recommend revisions to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to increase production or improve standards. Essential Skills 8-10 years of experience in industrial engineering. Bachelor's degree in engineering. Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability. Ability to work as a team player and maintain a detail-oriented approach. Exhibit critical thinking and leverage innovative ideas. Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary for providing support and constructive performance feedback. Advanced ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations. Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Experience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD). Strong analytical skills. Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Experience in time study and labor utilization. Additional Skills & Qualifications MODAPTS experience and certification. AutoCAD proficiency. Experience with Microsoft Power Apps. Data visualization experience. Project management experience. Lean manufacturing methodology. Capacity planning. Master's degree is a bonus but not required. Work Environment The work environment involves using advanced technologies and tools, including CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite. The role requires attention to detail, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced industrial setting. The position may also involve leading and mentoring team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Pontiac, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $44.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
