full-time Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer 5 in Pontiac, IL . The work will be 100% onsite, Monday-Friday on first shift (7:00 AM-3:30 PM, with some flexibility in start time) . This is a 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $61/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay) . Job Summary The Manufacturing Engineer 5 will provide technical expertise supporting the production, assembly, testing, cost, quality, and safety of fuel injector manufacturing operations . This position will focus on improving manufacturing and assembly processes, troubleshooting production equipment, investigating test failures, and developing APQP documentation. The engineer will work cross-functionally with manufacturing engineering, quality, test engineering, and operations teams in a factory environment. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot assembly equipment and resolve manufacturing and production issues. Drive process improvements for existing fuel injector assembly and test operations. Investigate first-test-pass failures, identify root causes, and support corrective actions. Create and maintain APQP documentation , including Process Flows, Control Plans, and Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA). Analyze production methods, workflows, equipment utilization, material handling, and manufacturing data to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and quality. Collaborate with quality, manufacturing engineering, test engineering, and operations teams to address production issues and implement improvements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience ; internships may count toward experience. Strong knowledge of APQP , including the ability to create and facilitate: Process Flows Control Plans PFMEA Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. Experience with engineering software and CAD applications. Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams . Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to facilitate cross-functional meetings and manage priorities across multiple projects. Preferred Qualifications Previous assembly and test experience . Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or Assembly Engineer . Hands-on experience troubleshooting manufacturing or assembly equipment. Experience supporting process improvement, production quality, and manufacturing risk mitigation. Why This Role?
