Manufacturing Engineer -
Precision Machining Location:
Prospect Heights, IL Are you a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in precision machining and CNC manufacturing? We're seeking a hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment and enjoys improving processes, solving complex manufacturing challenges, and supporting new product introductions. This role is ideal for someone who understands machining strategies, manufacturing processes, and how to optimize quality, efficiency, and throughput. What You'll Do Develop manufacturing processes for new and existing precision machined components. Evaluate customer drawings and specifications to determine the most efficient manufacturing strategy. Estimate machining cycle times and identify opportunities to improve productivity. Optimize manufacturing processes by reducing setup times, improving output, and increasing quality. Review manufacturing documentation to ensure compliance with customer requirements. Partner with production teams to troubleshoot machining issues and implement process improvements. Provide technical guidance and documentation to support efficient manufacturing operations. Required Qualifications To be considered, candidates should have: 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a precision machining or CNC job shop environment Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings Experience supporting new part development from customer print through production Experience developing machining processes and estimating cycle times Knowledge of CNC machining practices and manufacturing process optimization Experience improving setup times, increasing throughput, and driving continuous improvement initiatives Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on quality and manufacturing efficiency Highly Preferred Experience Swiss machining experience, including Citizen machines Experience with Miyano or fixed-headstock CNC lathes Familiarity with honing, hard turning, assembly operations, and manufacturing automation Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies If your background aligns with the qualifications above and you're passionate about improving manufacturing performance in a precision machining environment, we'd love to hear from you. Pay Details:
