X Facebook Pinterest Copy Link WhatsApp Email Share X Facebook Pinterest Copy Link WhatsApp Email Share Share this job Facebook X LinkedIn Email Manufacturing Engineer - VPI / Launch Support (5798) Columbus, Indiana, United States Apply for this job Manufacturing Engineer - VPI / Launch Support Position Summary The Manufacturing Engineer will lead end-to-end manufacturing process development and support VPI (Value Package Introduction) and launch activities within a production environment. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and work methods to support safe, efficient, and scalable production. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on manufacturing engineering experience, including FANUC robotics, GD&T, engineering drawing interpretation, process development, and continuous improvement . This position requires significant collaboration with manufacturing, engineering, operations, suppliers, and other cross-functional stakeholders. Schedule - Split Shift Requirement Candidates must be willing and able to work both day and night shifts during the assignment. Availability for the full split-shift schedule must be confirmed before consideration. First 6 months: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Second 6 months: Monday-Friday, approximately 3:00 PM-12:00 AM Some flexibility may be available regarding the exact night-shift hours. Candidates who are unable to accommodate both portions of the schedule will not be considered. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end manufacturing process development for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, production, and business objectives. Support VPI and manufacturing launch activities , including production readiness, process implementation, troubleshooting, and stabilization. Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and work methods. Apply advanced manufacturing engineering principles to improve equipment performance, process capability, throughput, quality, and scalability. Work with FANUC robotic systems utilizing HandlingTool and/or ArcTool in support of manufacturing processes and production requirements. Interpret engineering drawings and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to manufacturing process, tooling, equipment, and quality requirements. Integrate product design requirements and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to develop processes that meet product specifications. Establish and standardize manufacturing methods, process documentation, and best practices to promote consistency and operational excellence. Champion continuous improvement initiatives using established company standards, structured problem-solving methods, and data-driven analysis. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste and manufacturing cost, enhance quality, and improve overall process performance. Incorporate health, safety, and ergonomic principles into workstation, tooling, equipment, and process design. Coordinate cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external resources to execute project deliverables on schedule and within scope. Partner with engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality, business leaders, and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support successful project outcomes. Serve as a technical resource by sharing manufacturing expertise, coaching stakeholders, and strengthening overall team capability. Build strong working relationships across the organization to support collaboration, knowledge sharing, and sustained process improvements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field . 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production or industrial environment. Hands-on experience with FANUC HandlingTool and/or ArcTool . Strong understanding of GD&T and demonstrated ability to interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings. Experience developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes. Experience supporting manufacturing launches, new product introduction, VPI, or similar production-readiness activities. Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, tooling, workstation design, and process optimization. Experience applying structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong analytical skills with the ability to use manufacturing and process data to drive decisions and improvements. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality, suppliers, and leadership teams. Ability to work fully onsite and accommodate the required six-month day-shift/six-month night-shift schedule.

Drawing Interpretation & GD&T:
Integrates product design specifications and manufacturing equipment drawings to develop optimal manufacturing processes and ensure dimensional requirements are achieved.
Robotics & Automation:
Applies working knowledge of FANUC HandlingTool and/or ArcTool to support automated manufacturing processes, equipment implementation, and troubleshooting.
Continuous Improvement:
Uses structured problem solving, standardized process documentation, and data-driven decision-making to improve quality, productivity, cost, and manufacturing performance.
Health, Safety & Ergonomics:
Incorporates safety and ergonomic best practices into manufacturing process, equipment, tooling, and workstation design.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
