Job Description

Flint & Walling is a well-established company (160 years) in the water pump industry. Family-owned, nationwide reach of sales, and a strong emphasis on manufacturing within the USA. We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our 5-person Manufacturing Engineering team to support production processes for our operators. This candidate would also have opportunities to support new product builds by working with a team to define equipment and layouts to grow our business. The Manufacturing Engineering team works together to have good interactions, support, and advice on achieving a good result for the company. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Duties & Responsibilities:
Feasibility study, estimate, quote, evaluate, specify and purchase capital equipment and tooling for new programs or modifications to existing programs to budget. Investigate and Implement cost reductions through process improvements. Create and maintain routing, work instructions, and BOMs Specify machines, fixtures, tooling, and gages Improve layout, material flow, ergonomics, and labor balance Reduce cycle time, setup time, and WIP Support new product introductions (NPI) Partner heavily with Tool Room, Maintenance, and Production Assembly line support as required to address manufacturing concerns Design of tools and fixtures required for production Project team member for new product launch Recommendation and acquisition of required manufacturing equipment Improve production, safety, or quality with changes to assembly processes Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
4-year degree in Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical preferred). 5 years of support within Engineering Support (manufacturing) desired. Flint & Walling is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
