Job Description
We are looking for a talented
- Machining Engineer
- to join our team at Cummins Inc. in
- Seymour, IN
- In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- + Support CNC machining operations to ensure stable, efficient, and high-quality production output + Analyze performance metrics such as OEE and cycle times to identify and implement improvement opportunities + Troubleshoot machining issues and production interruptions to minimize downtime + Optimize tooling strategies, tool life, and cutting data to improve cost and performance + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive operational excellence + Lead or support structured problem-solving initiatives to address root causes and prevent recurrence + Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards including machine guarding and QMS requirements + Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including NPI and process enhancements •To be successful in this role, you will need the following:•+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex machining and production data + Hands-on expertise in CNC machining, tooling, setup, and basic programming (G-code/M-code) + Proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T application, and precision measurement techniques + Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively in a production environment •
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Basic level of relevant work experience required
