The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes and methods for new and existing product. Engineering background, hands-on machining experience, and a high level of self-motivation to manage independent project work will be important attributes for this role. This vacancy will be located at a production machine shop that utilizes CNC equipment to support close tolerance and complex components. CNC equipment consists of horizontal milling, 5th axis milling, mill/turn and lathe styles ranging in capabilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
: Provide manufacturing solutions and improvements for new and conventional product. Manage new product introductions with customers and manufacturing operations. Provide cost estimates and associated capital requirements for new product. Analyze, plan and implement manufacturing processes that meet all quality, timing and cost goals particularly relating to new product introduction. Machine assets, space requirements, workflow, layout of equipment, inspection techniques and the safety of personnel are to be considered. Coordinate with customers for design optimization of new product. Provide training plans and ensure follow-through on transition of product from prototype to production personnel and equipment. Support production to maintain processes, troubleshoot and resolve problems with the products, equipment or processes. Determine the most effective ways to use the basic factors of production (people, machines, materials, information and energy) to make products. ERP BOM creation & maintenance. Process change management, communication and implementation verification. Performs preliminary cost estimation information for quotation system. Recommend methods for improving safety, worker productivity and reduce waste of materials and utilities.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS
Verification and validation of production standards through analysis and time studies. Assist Engineering and Sales in investigations of new products with respect to the manufacture and implementation of equipment. Determination of proper packaging for shipment of product. Administration of Winsert's Continuous Improvement Program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
: Advanced understanding of turning, mill, mill-turn, and 5th axis machining processes. Hands-on experience with CAM, Solidworks, Fusion, Design CAD, and Esprit. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of geometry, algebra, calculus, and trigonometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Must be able to interpret instructions written in multiple forms. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical periodicals, blueprints, schematics, drawings, technical reports. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and work instructions-procedures Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently without constant supervision or direction.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to actively move through production space to work with staff Vision must be correctable to allow reading/viewing of documents and computer screen Hearing must be correctable to allow understanding of instructions and communication with others Mobility and coordination must allow for required tasks to be completed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Associate's degree with 3 - 6 years progressive engineering experience. 5+ years hands-on machining experience with high complexity components required. Experience within aerospace industry preferred.
