Direct Hire Relocation available Controls Process Engineer - Body & Coatings Manufacturing Join a high-impact manufacturing team responsible for launching and optimizing advanced automotive production systems. This role plays a critical part in delivering world-class Body, Bonding, Sealing, and Coatings operations, ensuring equipment reliability, manufacturing efficiency, and seamless integration of automation technologies across the plant. If you're passionate about automation, robotics, process optimization, and bringing complex manufacturing systems to life, this is an opportunity to make a visible impact from launch through full-scale production. What You'll Do Lead controls and process engineering activities supporting Body, Bonding, Sealing, and Coatings manufacturing operations. Define and document controls architectures, electrical specifications, and technical acceptance criteria. Drive integration of PLCs, robotics, vision systems, dispense systems, MES, SCADA, ANDON, AGVs, and other manufacturing technologies. Partner with equipment suppliers, integrators, and contractors to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. Support facility launch activities, troubleshoot production issues, and maximize equipment uptime and operational performance. Provide technical leadership for PTED, sealing, bonding, and coatings processes, helping develop operational and maintenance teams. Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, throughput, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Controls, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 8+ years of automotive manufacturing experience with a strong background in industrial automation and controls. Hands-on experience supporting Body-in-White (BIW), bonding, sealing, coatings, or paint shop processes, with a strong understanding of production-critical applications. Expertise with Allen-Bradley PLCs, TIA Portal, WinCC, OPC UA, and manufacturing system integration. Experience with robotics, vision systems, dispense technologies, MES integration, and advanced manufacturing controls. Strong project management, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement skills.
