3005092422-2 Apply for this job now Job Description ALPLA Inc., a global leader in plastic packaging, is seeking a Downstream Engineer to support high-volume bottle and closure production. In this hands-on role, you will operate and optimize downstream equipment, ensure product quality, and drive continuous improvement on the manufacturing floor. You will handle setups, changeovers, troubleshooting, and data tracking to keep lines running safely, efficiently, and sustainably. Working closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams, you'll help implement best practices in safety, 5S, and lean manufacturing while supporting ALPLA's strong focus on recycling and long-term reliability. Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and adjust downstream equipment for plastic packaging lines Perform machine setups, changeovers, and basic mechanical adjustments Inspect products and packaging to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy Troubleshoot line issues to minimize downtime and scrap Apply 5 S, safety, and quality standards at all times Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production teams to improve line performance Document production data, quality checks, and downtime events Support continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives on the production floor Required Skills Downstream equipment operation Extrusion or blow molding processes Plastic packaging manufacturing Quality control and inspection Machine setup and changeover Mechanical troubleshooting Production line optimization Preventive maintenance Lean manufacturing/5 SSafety and OSHA compliance
