The role involves applying engineering knowledge and attention to detail to create unique, innovative solutions while following applicable standards and regulations. Responsibilities Design and Develop Mechanical Components/Assemblies for Drilling Tools, Valves, etc. Prepare 3D Models and Assemblies in SolidWorks Perform Classical Engineering Calculations and Stress Analysis for Product Reliability and Robustness Assign Part Numbers and Perform PDM Duties, Including the Cataloging of Parts and Dimensions for Inventory and Database Systems Apply Proper Dimensioning and Tolerancing Practices Revise Drawings According to an Engineer's Redline Drawings or Shop Feedback Prepare Files/Models for CNC Machining, Plasma-Cutting, Waterjet, or 3D Printing Interpret Customer Drawings or Specifications into Refined Drawings/Instructions for the DMI Machine/Fabrication Shop Communicate Effectively with Customers, Engineers, Machinists, and Fabricators to Complete Complex Projects within a Set Timeframe Demonstrate Attention to Detail and Pride in Workmanship Ensure Compliance with Quality Programs (API and ISO) to Create Quality Products Support Prototype Development Efforts and Formulate Test Plans for the Testing and Validation of New Designs Qualifications 3+ Years Experience in Mechanical Engineering Design / Drafting Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology or Related Field High Proficiency in SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor Strong Understanding of Technical Drawings, Dimensioning, and Detailing Familiarity with Manufacturing Processes and Manufacturability (DFM) Ability to Manage Multiple Tasks and Projects with Minimal Supervision A Willingness to Learn and Accept Constructive Feedback Preferred Experience in the Development of Oilfield Tools and Equipment (especially valves or fluid control equipment) Experience with Design/Documentation of Weldments, Structures, and Sheet Metal Products Experience Using Autodesk AutoCAD, or other 2D Drafting Software Technical Writing Skills for Developing Product Documentation (Product Manuals, Engineering Summaries, and Product Datasheets)
