Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support and optimize our paper converting operations. This role is critical to improving machine performance, minimizing waste, and driving process efficiency across sheeting, coating, laminating, slitting, and rewinding equipment. The ideal candidate thrives on the production floor and enjoys solving real-time manufacturing challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Increase machine uptime and efficiency through process optimization and equipment improvements across a range of paper converting machine lines Collaborate with operators, maintenance, and quality to troubleshoot production issues Lead root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions Analyze production data to drive improvements in yield, scrap reduction, and throughput Support preventative maintenance strategies and equipment reliability initiatives Lead product development and process validation Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (paper converting, packaging, printing, or similar preferred) Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced production setting Strong communication skills and a hands-on approach
Preferred Skills:
Experience with converting equipment such as sheeters, coater/laminators, and slitters. Familiarity with PLCs or basic automation troubleshooting Knowledge of paper materials and web handling processes
