Job Summary and Essential Functions:
The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position. Job duties to include but are not limited to; § Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods. § Helps to select, train, and develop necessary personnel. § Provides problem solving, support, and solutions for shop operations. § Provides process solutions through the use of six sigma techniques as well as lean manufacturing theory. § Maintains computer records of processes, bill of materials. § Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. § Confers with product development staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. § Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. § Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. § Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. § Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. § Supports cost reduction and continuous improvement initiative. Required Skills & Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge of statistical process control math is required. § Must be able to communicate effectively. § Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. § Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. § Must have knowledge of Database software; Design software; Internet software, MS Office software to include Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. § Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen techniques a plus.Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered. § Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or university in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Work Environment, Physical Demands and Safety Equipment Requirement:
