This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in developing efficient manufacturing processes, supporting production operations, and helping deliver high-quality precision-machined products to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, CNC machining processes, process development, and continuous improvement within a precision manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and documented production processes Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, setup sheets, tooling lists, and work instructions Review customer drawings, specifications, and requirements to determine the most efficient manufacturing methods Support CNC machining operations including mills, lathes, EDM, grinding, welding, and secondary processes Collaborate with production teams to optimize setup times, cycle times, and overall efficiency Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives Prepare cost estimates and support customer RFQ activities Provide CAD support and assist with manufacturability reviews Coordinate with suppliers, issue RFQs, and manage outsourced production requirements Support engineering change activities and process documentation updates Assist with quality initiatives, root cause investigations, and corrective actions Support ISO 9001 and
ISO 13485
quality systems and process controls
Desired Background/Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) 3-5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience Experience in a precision machining, contract manufacturing, machine shop, or job shop environment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements Strong understanding of machining processes, fixturing, tooling, tolerance stack-ups, and process engineering concepts Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, production, quality, suppliers, and customers Preferred Experience with SolidWorks Experience with Job
BOSS ERP
software Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification Knowledge of metalworking, finishing, and plating processes Experience supporting ISO-regulated manufacturing environments
