Position summary: A career-minded Water/Wastewater engineer, looking towards advancement, is needed to join JMT's fast growing Water/Wastewater consultant engineering practice. Employee will plan assist with engineering designs in the water/wastewater field through working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards and processes; conduct multiple design projects simultaneously; and develop, analyze and document critical design elements. The selected candidate will become part of an established team of engineers working on exciting sewershed study and rehabilitation, new sewer design, water distribution, water/wastewater treatment, and pump station projects in the Mid-Atlantic. Employee is expected to provide quality engineering evaluation and design services efficiently with adequate supervision to support the project team's objective and provide customer satisfaction on all projects, delivering projects of high quality on schedule and within budget. Compensation for this position is $37.50-45.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Assist with alternative studies
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to complete a task
- Perform design computations
- Assist in designing projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
- Assist with developing the project quantities for construction cost estimate
- Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and constructionNonessential Functions and Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from ABET accredited engineering program
- 0-5 years of experience in civil engineering or related field
- Proficient in discipline specific design software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Written and oral communication skills Qualifications Preferred
- Engineer-in-training (EIT) certification
- Related experience
- Experience working with local clients at the county and state level Working Conditions Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time.
