As a Quality Engineer Intern atGM would drive problem solving and resolutions based on data driven solutions to suppliers and internal customers. Your work would involve functioning as a technical liaison between production operations, engineering, suppliers, and supplier qualityat a GM manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities:

Interact with production and engineering on part measurement results to part print specifications to assure quality and reliability Ensure effective containment and resolution to identified non-conforming product Communicate emerging issues for responsible components daily toQuality Systems Manager Coordinate repair, rework, and containment activities for identified spills Validate supplier scrap Work withSupplier Practical Problem Solving (SPPS)process on supplier related issues Support the PTR Process by running PTR's and evaluating impact on the product / function Support launch activities of new products Support the implementation and effective adherence to all elements within

GMS Required Qualifications:

Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: MechanicalEngineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology and Quality Engineering Must be graduating between December 2027 and June 2030 Able to work full-time, 40 hours perweek Must be willing to work in a plant environment Must be enrolled in a co-op program through

Kettering University or Rochester Institute of Technology Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient in readingpart drawings and interpretation of part measurements Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience Evidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability and trust Consistently demonstrates innovative thinking that is customer-centric Excellent project management skills and the proven ability to manage multiple projects at any given Specific physical requirements of the position include the ability to: Walk and stand for prolonged periods of time. Read standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections. Promptly detect and respond to safety instructions, alarms, and signals. Wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and safety shoes. Work in a loud manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled (conditions can be hot or cold). Frequently and repetitively bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach to perform work. Lift or carry materials weighing up to 15 pounds and periodically carry or lift materials weighing up to 40 lbs. Occasionally sit, climb (including ladders and lifts) and drive vehicles and equipment. GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
