Regular business hours Advantage Technical is hiring a Engineering Group Lead to support a leading OEM manufacturer in Dundee, MI. This temporary, fully onsite role leads engineering-driven continuous improvement across production lines, from new capacity implementation to advanced problem-solving. What You'll Do (Responsibilities and Job Duties) Lead engineers in achieving continuous improvement goals across new and existing capacity. Manage project schedules, budgets/forecasts, and issue tracking to closure. Support and create budgetary cost estimates for new and retool studies. Participate in simultaneous engineering activities with suppliers on new model programs. Secure outside resources and information when technical challenges exceed the cross-functional team's capability. Participate in and drive project development to reduce and eliminate waste. Drive engine and transmission lines and processes to fully PPAP'd requirements at 85% OPE. Lead kaizen and improvement projects targeting prioritized waste areas. Present at plant and project reviews to all levels of organizational leadership. Train, coach, and support deployment of advanced SPW tools on complex, statistically driven problems. Provide hands-on troubleshooting support to Technical Engineers and the Maintenance Support Team to improve OEE (overall equipment effectiveness), MTBF (mean time between faults), and MTTR (mean time between repairs). Oversee updates to process equipment documentation, including tool and operation sheets, machine and tool drawings, PFMEAs (process failure mode and effects analyses), control plans, OPLs (one-point lessons), EWOs (emergency work orders), and software backup programs. Lead spare parts definition and cataloging for the assigned business unit.
