Controls Engineer - AMR Integration (Contract)Job Description We are seeking a Controls Engineer to support the implementation and integration of an Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) system within a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with advanced automation technologies while partnering with an experienced engineering team throughout deployment, programming, commissioning, and startup activities. The selected engineer will complete an initial training period before traveling onsite to support a large-scale manufacturing implementation. This role offers the potential for future project opportunities supporting additional AMR and automation initiatives. Responsibilities

+ Assist with deployment and integration of AMR technology within a manufacturing facility.

+ Support PLC programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.

+ Work alongside a senior automation engineer to implement and optimize AMR workflows.

+ Configure and validate communications between robots, PLCs, and manufacturing equipment.

+ Support startup, testing, and debugging activities during system integration.

+ Troubleshoot controls-related issues during commissioning and production launch.

+ Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure a successful deployment.

+ Document modifications and support ongoing system improvements. Essential Skills

+ Experience in PLC programming.

+ Background in machine integration.

+ Ability to program from scratch. Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with AMR systems is a significant advantage.

+ Knowledge of automation and integration processes. Work Environment The position is based in Sanford, NC, with the requirement to travel initially to West Michigan for training. The role involves onsite project support in a manufacturing environment, working directly with advanced automation technologies. The work setting includes collaborating with diverse teams, focusing on the deployment and integration of cutting-edge AMR systems. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Holland, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
