Job Description
Technique is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at our Jackson, Michigan facility. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and improvement of mechanical components, systems, and equipment. You will collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to deliver safe, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions that meet customer and business requirements. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and brings 2-7 years of experience in mechanical or design engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, a strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards, and experience with product design, equipment design, or tooling/fixture design are critical factors in this role.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical components- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems from concept through production. Create 2D drawings and 3D models
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software in accordance with company and industry standards. Perform engineering calculations
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection to ensure performance, safety, and durability. Support prototyping and testing
- Support prototyping, testing, validation, and design verification activities. Collaborate with manufacturing
- Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, and cost efficiency. Participate in design reviews
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives. Troubleshoot issues
- Troubleshoot design, manufacturing, or field issues and implement corrective actions. Prepare and maintain engineering documentation
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and change requests. Ensure regulatory compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Support NPI and engineering changes
- Support new product introductions (NPI) and engineering change processes. Work with suppliers and vendors
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors on component design, sourcing, and technical requirements as needed.
