Job Description
Family Service & Children's Aid is Hiring for a Part-Time Human Resources Administrative Assistant (20 hours a week) Family Service & Children's Aid is looking for a detail-oriented, people-first HR Administrative Assistant to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you'll be at the heart of how our agency supports its employees from the moment someone joins our team through every milestone along the way. You'll work closely with the HR Manager on everything from recruitment and onboarding to benefits administration and personnel records. If you're organized, discreet, and genuinely enjoy helping people, we'd love to meet you. What you'll do: Recruitment & Onboarding Support staff recruitment efforts, including posting open positions and placing external employment ads Track incoming resumes and screen applicants Coordinate interview scheduling Conduct reference and background checks for prospective new hires Help new staff, interns, and volunteers complete required documentation — reference checks, driving records, criminal background checks and other clearances Lead or assist with new employee orientation Employee Records & Compliance Create, maintain, and safeguard employee personnel files in line with agency policy and applicable law Protect the confidentiality of personnel records in accordance with HIPAA, the Bullard-Plawecki Act, and other applicable regulations Track key HR data — evaluation due dates, credential renewals, length of employment, and training records Support bi-annual staff credentialing and re-credentialing processes Benefits & Payroll Support Coordinate new employee benefits enrollment Assist with administering benefits Prepare and distribute monthly PTO summaries, evaluation due reports to the appropriate leadership General HR Support Keep the HR shared drive organized and stocked with current forms and materials Assist HR Manager as needed Pitch in on other HR projects as they come up
Requirements:
Associate degree plus 2+ years of HR-related experience (Bachelor's degree in Human Resources preferred) Strong written and verbal communication skills A professional, positive presence with both internal staff and external contacts Comfort with email, internet research, spreadsheets, and MS Office Cultural sensitivity and a genuine respect for confidentiality Tact, diplomacy, and courtesy. You'll be trusted with sensitive information every day Ability to lift up to 10-20 lbs occasionally Why FSCA?
