Full-time Join Our Visionary Team As a Senior Roadway Design Engineer , you will play a key role in the design and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects throughout Michigan. You will contribute to major roadway and freeway projects, provide technical leadership, and help guide design staff through project development and delivery. What You'll Do Lead roadway design tasks for transportation projects, including roadway geometry, grading, maintenance of traffic, signing and pavement markings, drainage coordination, and related roadway improvements. Prepare and review engineering drawings, design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, specifications, and other project deliverables. Develop project work plans and coordinate roadway design activities with other engineering disciplines. Lead and mentor engineers and design staff, providing technical direction and reviewing work for quality and accuracy. Participate in design reviews and develop practical solutions to complex roadway design and constructability issues. Coordinate with project managers, clients, agencies, subconsultants, and multidisciplinary project teams. Support quality control and ensure designs comply with applicable MDOT, AASHTO, and other relevant design standards.
What You Bring Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
Level 1 & 2
Engineers:
1-7 years of experience.
Senior Engineers:
5+ years of experience.
Certifications:
Level 1 & 2: FE preferred.
Senior:
FE required, PE preferred. Proficiency in MicroStation or similar software. Strong knowledge of roadway design principles, standards, and transportation project delivery.
