Job Description
SUMMARY:
The Engineering Intern will support the engineering and manufacturing teams in developing, improving, and documenting CNC machining processes. The ideal candidate is a motivated engineering student with strong SolidWorks design skills and an interest in advanced manufacturing technologies. Prior experience with CNC machines, Mastercam, or Hypermill is a plus.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the design and documentation of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids using SolidWorks. Support the creation and improvement of CNC machining programs and setup documentation. Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and quality personnel to resolve manufacturing challenges. Participate in process improvement and root-cause analysis activities for nonconforming parts. Help update and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, and process instructions. Observe and learn shop floor processes, including machine setup, inspection, and part verification. Support ongoing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.QUALIFICATIONS
Currently, pursuing a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. Proficiency in SolidWorks required. Familiarity with CNC machining concepts and G/M code preferred. Experience with Mastercam, Hypermill, or other CAM software a strong plus. Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. U.S. citizenship required due to work on defense-related projects.COMPETENCIES
