- Journeyman/apprenticeship completion, vocational training or certifications equivalent, OR 6 years of experience at Mill Steel Company
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy industrial equipment including slitters, overhead cranes, coil handling systems, motors, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Lead preventive maintenance programs to improve uptime and reliability in steel manufacturing and slitting operations
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Support installation, alignment, and commissioning of slitters, crane systems, and steel processing lines
- Ensure safe operation and maintenance of overhead cranes in compliance with OSHA standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment logs
- Drive continuous improvement in maintenance procedures and equipment reliability
- Partner with production and safety teams to support safe, efficient plant operations
- Lead safety inspections and plant safety initiatives
- Perform additional duties as needed to support plant operations Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a steel manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
- Strong experience with slitters, overhead cranes, motors, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Ability to troubleshoot industrial electrical systems and read wiring diagrams
- Strong understanding of safety practices in steel manufacturing and slitting operations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Hands-on, safety-focused, and comfortable in a fast-paced steel facility Organizational Relationship Reports directly to the Plant Manager and works closely with production, maintenance, and safety teams.
