AVL Mobility Technologies Inc offers a job in the United States (US) as Project Engineer II - Design AVL Mobility Technologies, Inc. (MTI) forges new ideas, creating exciting breakthroughs, and providing mobility solutions for combustion engines, transmissions, hybrid applications, fuel cell, battery, ADAS/AD, data intelligence, and embedded systems for all types of vehicles. Our mission is to be the leading engineering consultancy providing excellence and sustainable mobility solutions to North America and the world as a key member of the global AVL network to help improve vehicle safety and reduce emissions. MTI is looking for a motivated engineer to join our team. We are specifically looking for a Project Engineer II - Design to provide technical, program, and account management expertise to cross-functional business development and engineering program team execution activities. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.
Roles:
Plans and formulates workflow of self and other to meet specified deadlines with minimum of supervision Has engineering responsibility and can lead specific phases of projects i.e., technical studies, specification writing, establishing technical plans Co-ordinates project meetings, design reviews and sign off reviews Resolves engineering and design conflicts Responsible for 3D/2D CAD design of components and assemblies Owns all system engineering tasks relating to system responsibility i.e. Architecture Resolving design constraints and establishing interfaces DFMEA's, DVPR's BOM input Coordinating input from other skill teams as required i.e., Analysis Supplier negotiations and lead-time planning Lead and author single team proposals Provide engineering leadership to project teams
Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design OR applicable degree Masters' degree preferred 3-5+ years' experience in area of expertise Excellent knowledge of more than one area of engine systems design or manufacturing process i.e., Air system design, Block/Crankcase design, foundry practice Fluent in at least 1 major 3D CAD software; Siemens NX preferred Fluent in PDM software; Teamcenter preferred Can lead system engineering process i.e. P-diagrams and boundary diagrams DFMEA's DVP&R Supplier negotiations Team leader skills Analytical thinking Motivated Team player Customer oriented Flexible (location, hrs) Demonstrated ability to deliver to customer program expectation Communication and presentation skills Book understanding of CAE tools and practices
