Job Description
Prosper-tech is a family owned (~40 people) CNC machining service provider for the medical device, aerospace, and defense industries. We are looking to add to our team to keep up with strong customer demand. This is hands on machinist role in a low-volume production environment machining materials such as Aluminum and Stainless. Machinery fleet includes ~25 CNC machines and growing Milling 3-5 axis Brother, Haas, Takumi, Grob Turning Single and Double turret with y axis and live tooling CMZ machines
- Six (+) years' experience in CNC maintenance
- Demonstrated professional experience in technical written and verbal communication with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated ownership of preventative maintenance programs
- Demonstrated ability to train and develop CNC repair skills in others Preventative Maintenance Program Ownership Set frequency and perform following tasks Clean, inspect, and lubrication tasks Coolant sump and line maintenance Filter maintenance Tool probe calibration Spindle probe calibration Kinematic calibration (5-axis mills) Machine alignment checks Machine leveling Geometry corrections as needed (turret/ spindle alignments, etc) Robot position calibrations Create, document and maintain repair records and maintenance logs Maintain and expand inventory of CNC repair tools in the tool crib CNC repair hand tools (hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic) Calibration tools (Co-axil indicator, ball bar and test bar, drawbar testers, granite square, etc) Machine breakdowns and downtime events o Troubleshoot and repair electrical mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on CNC machine tools in timely manner § Continuously improve PM program to avoid future repeat unplanned downtime Coordinate clear problem statements to external partners for parts and machinery repair Gather quotes for parts and service and submit to purchasing Coordinate external service techs while on-site performing work Sign off on service reports Machine installation Inspect used machinery prior to purchase Perform equipment pack-outs as necessary Lead installation of used or new machines on site Coordinate with external vendors (service techs, electricians, utility technicians, automation technicians) Facilitate moving machinery within the site to improve job flow or create work cells as needed for customer programs • Team development o Develop junior CNC service technicians as business grows o Own maintenance and repair budget Alignment with our core values:
