PAC Racing Springs is seeking a driven, hands-on Manufacturing Engineer who thrives on solving complex manufacturing challenges and developing world-class spring production processes. This is a unique opportunity to become a technical expert in CNC spring coiling technology, spring materials, tooling, and advanced manufacturing processes that support high-performance engine valve springs and valvetrain components. Responsibilities (what you will do): Become a subject matter expert in CNC spring coiling equipment, spring manufacturing processes, wire materials, tooling systems, setup methodologies, and production technologies. Learn and master the programming, setup, and optimization of CNC spring coiling machines. Develop expertise in pitch control, diameter control, end geometry, wire positioning, and spring stability. Optimize machine parameters including feed rates, spindle speeds, point positioning, arbor configurations, and pitch tool settings. Design, develop, and refine coiling tooling including points, guides, arbors, pitch tools, quills, cutters, and fixtures. Analyze wire characteristics including tensile strength, surface condition, cast, helix, lubrication, and dimensional consistency. Establish process windows that ensure consistent spring geometry and production repeatability. Lead process validation, capability studies, and production launches. Troubleshoot machine performance, tooling wear, process variation, and quality issues. Implement automated inspection, in-process monitoring, and data collection systems. Conduct root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Manage manufacturing projects from concept through implementation. Train and work with operators to implement best practices.
