Job Description
Job Title:
Manufacturing Engineer / Production SupervisorJob Description The Manufacturing Engineer/Production Supervisor will be responsible for a mix of manufacturing engineering responsibilities and overseeing production on the off-shift and collaborating with leaders of manufacturing/production support to review manufacturing and production floor performance. In addition, they will help to facilitate the planning, scheduling, setup, and running of manufacturing activities. They will lead the dispersal and distribution of materials for manufacturing and maintain labor and material requirements to meet the daily schedules. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, have experience in an automotive manufacturing environment, and have availability to support the manufacturing teams on off shifts. This role will be about 70- 80% on the floor so very important that this individual is drawn to being hands on. 1st shift 45-55 hour work week Responsibilities
- Maintains manufacturing production processes by observing process volumes and recommending process adjustments
- Completes manufacturing production processes by monitoring progress and expediting material flow and work results; resolving problems
- Improves manufacturing process workflow by eliminating stoppages, analyzing delays, testing new methods
- Records manufacturing production by completing daily shift reports, calculating yields and recoveries
- Maintains process flow by communicating production status, requirements, and problems to next shift
- Maintains working relationship with union, by complying with the terms of the (CBA)
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy manufacturing process environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations
- Contributes to manufacturing processes and organization success
- Oversee manufacturing outcomes by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, and counseling associates; presenting job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures Essential Skills Engineering experience working in automotive manufacturing environment (highly prefers 2+ years) General understanding of assembly or machining processes Leadership or supervision experience High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others Someone who is drawn to the manufacturing floor and doesn't want to sit behind a desk all day Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with union employees Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Three Rivers, MI.
