Job Description

Essential Functions of the

Job:

1. Perform technical analysis of manufacturing processes to support management decisions.

2. Design / direct the acquisition, design, fabrication and repair of all necessary tooling and machines.

3. Troubleshoots day-to-day process performance issues, develops solutions, and monitors improvements.

4. Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of manufacturing best practices, product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, test methods, and quality control standards.

5. Validate process cycle times by conducting time studies;

6. Provide day-to-day coaching duties in absence of team leader; and

7. Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements.

8. Determine manufacturing time and cost of new assemblies; provide Production Managers with a labor quote

9. Works with suppliers to determine product specifications and conformance to quality standards, and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or part

Position Summary:

Morbark's Manufacturing Engineer position works as part of a team to maintain and improve processes and systems used in manufacturing. Manufacturing Engineers work under minimal supervision, independently prepare, conduct, and evaluate analyses for planning process implementation of new or modified product designs to the factory. The Manufacturing Engineer will also lead problem solving for manufacturing issues (production methods and procedures) in a specific function (including layout, production flow, tooling and production equipment, material fabrication, assembly methods and planning) in a Pre-Production, Production or Post-Production environment.
