This role focuses on creating robust CNC programs, optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring that all components meet stringent quality and specification requirements.
There are two openings:
one position focuses on CNC milling using NX software, and the other focuses on CNC Swiss machining using ES-PRIT software. The Engineering Technician works closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to develop capable, repeatable, and cost-effective processes in a precision manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Work with engineering to coordinate all production and post-processing activities for CNC milling or CNC Swiss machining centers. Interpret engineering prints and 3D models to create CNC programs and set up machines for Swiss or milling machine centers. Develop manufacturing processes that are capable, cost-effective, and sustainable for complex precision components. Create CNC code that delivers a capable, repeatable process and ensures consistent part quality. Write clear work instructions and procedures to support manufacturing processes and machine setups. Apply a full understanding of G-code to program, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machining operations. Advocate for and implement high quality standards and LEAN principles throughout the production process. Assess and communicate technical specifications and requirements to all relevant departments. Identify, lead, and complete continuous improvement projects, including cycle time reduction and perishable tooling selection and cost reduction. Create and coordinate engineering tests to validate processes and verify capability. Perform quality assurance tests to ensure all components comply with specifications and customer requirements. Assist in or lead the development of tool design and CNC programming for new and existing parts. Modify Bills of Materials (BOM) and Bills of Operations (BOO) within the ERP system through formal change control processes. Assist with costing and quoting functions related to tooling and process development. Resolve daily manufacturing issues in alignment with established problem-solving structures and procedures. Maintain machining processes and secondary operational processes to ensure consistent performance and reliability.
