- to evaluate Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and deliver accurate, comprehensive quotes aligned with customer requirements.
- What you will be doing:
- + Prepare quotes by interfacing with the customer-facing team to align customer requirements with SDM production capabilities + Learn to use cost estimation tools and databases to support more in-depth projects by capturing and calculating material, labor, and overhead costs + Provide recommendations for customer product development and manufacturing methods + Shadow customer engagement activities to understand customer needs and preferences, providing basic support in tailoring quotes and proposals + Utilize knowledge of additive manufacturing processes and supporting functions + Utilize quoting software packages to process requests for quotation (RFQs) + Review and verify computer-aided design (CAD) data using various CAD software + Thoroughly review geometry and requirements, understanding customers' wants and needs for quality, functionality, aesthetics, price, and delivery + Review and verify customer documents for acceptance, negotiating changes as needed + Communicate major manufacturing issues and negotiate accommodations with customers and Sales + Actively contribute in internal meetings to gather information and insights for quote preparation + Assess the feasibility of conformance to customer requirements, collaborating with supporting departments to mitigate risks, recommend solutions for Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) issues, and set customer expectations + Participate in conference calls/meetings with customers to convey or clarify technical requirements, and learn to communicate project requirements, cost estimates, and timelines to customers clearly and concisely + Participate in internal meetings to strategize large opportunities with operations, sales, and management + Collaborate with Operations and the Fulfillment team to ensure a sufficient understanding of customer acceptance criteria and appropriate margins are covered + Assist in documenting customer communications and maintaining records of quotes, proposals, and project specifications + Provide basic support in responding to customer inquiries, clarifications, and feedback, escalating complex issues to subject matter experts + Utilize knowledge in manufacturing processes and engage subject matter experts for input + Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to increase understanding of manufacturing, quality, and engineering processes + Participate in cross-functional teams to identify basic opportunities for process improvement + Collaborate with internal teams to gather input and information for project estimation, assisting in coordinating cross-functional meetings and discussions, project requirements, and resource allocations + Learn to identify and address concerns in customer requirements, seeking limited guidance from supporting departments + Support procurement and supply chain teams in sourcing materials and services for additive manufacturing projects + Assist in liaising with project managers and production teams to ensure alignment on + Provide backup for Planning and Project Management functions as required + Contribute to Fulfillment team continuous process improvement (CPI) efforts to improve efficiency, better align processes to support both customers and Operations, and standardize communication of customer requirements + Provide support to project teams by assisting in analysis, data collection, and documentation related to cost estimation and resource planning + Stay informed about industry trends and developments in additive manufacturing, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in estimation practices + Participate in post-project reviews and contribute insights for process enhancement and continuous improvement, especially to estimation processes, tools, and methodologies + Follow all company safety policies and procedures + Attend all required company trainings + Demonstrate commitments to Stratasys Behaviors by leading, acting, and modeling these values + Other responsibilities as assigned by the department or manager •Must have for this role:•+ Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management or another related field + Minimum of four years of experience in estimation engineering, or four years of experience in project management or operations within an additive environment, with at least one year specifically focused on estimation engineering + Demonstrated history of showing initiative in process improvement, seeking out learning opportunities and critical thinking skills + Demonstrate ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and clearly communicate technical requirements and status of assigned projects.
