Job Description

Strong growth and expansion have created an opportunity to implement a manufacturing engineering department for an industry leader in custom sheet metal electronics enclosures. We are looking for a change agent to develop and implement effective solutions for New Product Implementation. Job Summary Evaluating and resolving manufacturing issues on the production floor for existing products. Implementing root cause analysis methods such as 5Y to improve throughput in production. Standardizing tooling and methods. Duties and Responsibilities New Projects Implementation Identifying new tooling required for a specific project or application. Creating manufacturing routings from mechanical drawings and 3D models. Designing and improving welding fixtures for new and existing products. Creating forming simulations for complex sheet metal geometry. Creating and modifying flat patterns for more accurate forming. Process Improvement Creating and implementing new processes in production for new equipment including ATC press breaks, CNC Welding, and more. Identifying new capital equipment. DMA problem solving for strategic process improvements.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience Expertise in sheet metal and welding manufacturing engineering. Experience with materials including Steel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum. Experience with New Project Implementation into production. Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance. Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Superior managerial and diplomacy skills. Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience:
Degree in Business Administration Preferred Experience metal finishing including plating, wet paint, and powder coating. mechanical assembly. metrology equipment. military specifications. 3D modeling and welding fixture design. Experience with programming, and proficient use of Amada sheet metal software-VPSS Blank, VPSS Bend, Sheetworks, Influent tracking software Physical Requirements Light work, exerting up to 10 pounds in force occasionally, and /or up to 5 pounds of force frequently.
