Role Description The Industrial Automation Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Hooksett, NH. This role involves designing, programming, testing, and commissioning PLC and HMI-based control systems for individual machines and plant-wide processes. Day-to-day tasks include developing control logic, configuring HMI interfaces, troubleshooting automation systems, and supporting start-up and integration activities at customer facilities. The engineer collaborates with project managers and customers to gather requirements, create documentation, and ensure systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. The role also includes maintaining and optimizing existing control systems and providing technical support to internal teams and clients. Qualifications Ability to design and program industrial control systems using Siemens platforms (e.g., STEP 7, STEP 5, WinCC) and Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platforms (e.g., RSLogix, RSView SE, RSView 32). Strong skills in PLC logic development, HMI configuration, and integration of field devices such as sensors, drives, and actuators. Experience with control system commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization in manufacturing or process environments. Knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus) and basic control theory. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation, and to create clear project documentation and reports. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capacity to work safely and effectively in on-site industrial settings. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and clients; willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
