Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes through observation of manufacturing methods of the products. Provide a gate to the Operations group for new product and custom product deigns prior to release manufacturing. Duties Evaluate manufacturing processes by researching their effectiveness and applying knowledge of products and manufacturing methods to improve them Periodically attend case resolution meetings to assist in helping to resolve customer related issues Take ownership of chosen "high risk" custom orders on the manufacturing side and see them through to completion Act as backup in Operations for making CMM measurements as well as potentially writing CMM programs for other operators to follow This position may include occasional installation, testing, and/or calibration of systems at Labsphere or at customer locations For this person to be successful (and exceed expectations), they need to be able to be able to work independently as well as solve problems as they are encountered or suggest resolution said problems. They would need to have the aptitude to understand all elements of the manufacturing process and how they are related to Labsphere's products. On top of a good technical base, this individual will need to work at a fast pace when required without sacrificing the quality of the service they are providing. General Requirements (Education, Experience, Attributes of Successful Candidate) Associate's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Bachelor's preferred) Minimum of three years of related experience Proficiency in CAD (Solidworks preferred) and interpreting Engineering drawings Familiarity with PDM systems Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred) Join us to be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of optical measurement technology!
