Job Description

Job Description Oxygen Systems US provides engineering and technical support for life support systems across commercial, military, and general aviation sectors. The Associate Design Engineer is responsible for the development and sustainment of gaseous and chemical (solid-state) oxygen delivery systems, as well as the integration of high-performance pilot and passenger interface assemblies The Associate Design Engineer's primary objective is to execute product development activities that ensure design performance aligns with stringent customer specifications, FAA/EASA regulatory standards, and internal quality benchmarks. This role facilitates the seamless transition of high-fidelity prototypes to full-scale production, providing technical oversight from initial conceptualization through final product launch. Success in this position relies on cross-functional collaboration, integrating engineering efforts with manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to deliver mission-critical life support solutions. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Creating and revising designs related to life support systems
  • Check and verify supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness. Including specifications, drawings, assembly and test procedures.
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, and procedures
  • Utilize prior mechanical design experience and apply on-the-job training to meet product deliverables within schedule & budget constraints and to solve tasks through technical skills and analytic thinking.
  • Communicate with Manufacturing, Quality and Project Engineers, on changes, concerns and collaboration needs for the product
  • Generate development, qualification plans (verification and validation) and compliance methods based on customer and regulatory specifications
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated and the communication of results for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures Listed above are the

  • Bachelor degree (BS) or equivalent in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from a four-year college or technical school Preferred
  • Master degree (MS) or equivalent in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from a college or technical school Experience
  • Required
  • 1-3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in design engineering Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Required
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience and proficiency with technical writing; strong communication skills
