Job Description
Summary
- This position is responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation to support the design and manufacturing of NEPSI's power quality and power systems equipment.
Activities:
Functions:
Support new product development, product enhancement, and custom-engineered solutions for utility and industrial customers Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (AutoCAD and AutoCAD 3D) Create fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials (BOMs) Apply GD&T principles to ensure accurate tolerancing Review and revise drawings based on engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to translate design concepts into production-ready documentation Support prototype builds and design validation testing Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards (UL, IEEE, NEC as applicable) Assist in root cause analysis for design related production issues Maintain drawing revisions and configuration control within PLM/ERP systems Ensure accurate documentation of product specifications and revisions Support internal and external audits related to engineering documentation Recommend design improvements to enhance manufacturability and reduce costs Support value engineering initiatives Identify opportunities to standardize components and assemblies Other tasks as required EducationExperience:
Required- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, engineering technology, or related field 3+years of CAD design experience in a manufacturing environment Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Strong understanding of manufacturing process (fabrication, machining, assembly) Knowledge of GD&T and drafting standards Preferred•Experience in power systems, electrical enclosures, or industrial equipment manufacturing Familiarity with UL and other regulatory compliance standards Experience with ERP/PLM systems Lean or Six Sigma training Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification
