Sesto Synergy designs and manufactures custom wedding rings in our Rochester workshop. As we grow, we are looking for a hands-on engineer to help make our production systems faster, smarter, and more scalable. This is not a traditional desk engineering role. You will work directly with our machines, production team, electronics, software, and automation systems to identify bottlenecks and build practical solutions. Your primary goal is to reduce production cycle time and improve the reliability of our manufacturing systems.
Projects may include:
Automating manual production processes Designing and improving production stations, fixtures, and equipment Integrating CNC machines, lasers, scanners, cameras, and other equipment Building systems using Raspberry Pi, microcontrollers, sensors, motors, relays, and circuit boards Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, networking, and software issues Developing internal software and AI-assisted production tools Connecting machines and production data to internal systems Measuring cycle times and identifying opportunities to improve throughput Owning projects from concept through testing, deployment, and ongoing support Who We're Looking For You may come from robotics, mechatronics, manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering, automation, computer engineering, or a similar hands-on technical background. Experience with several of the following is valuable: Robotics or industrial automation Electronics, sensors, motors, relays, and controls Raspberry Pi, Arduino, PLCs, or similar hardware Python or other programming languages Networking, APIs, databases, or internal software tools CAD and mechanical design CNC or manufacturing equipment AI coding and development tools You do not need to know everything on day one. What matters most is that you can learn quickly, troubleshoot independently, build practical solutions, and take ownership when something you create needs improvement. A bachelor's degree is welcome but not required. Associate degrees, technical programs, co-op experience, personal projects, and demonstrated industry experience are all valuable. We are ideally looking for someone with 2-5 years of hands-on experience , but proven ability matters more than years on a résumé.
