Main missions The Process Technician shall be the liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing, ensuring new products are successfully transitioned from design to manufacture in a way that optimizes quality and efficiency. In addition, the Process Engineer will improve existing product designs and current production methods. In conjunction with the Manufacturing Manager, the Process Engineer is responsible for the overall performance of the operation including quality, delivery, cost, and safety. A strong focus is to be placed on improving product quality and production efficiency to drive down cost. Main duties Act as the liaison between manufacturing and engineering regarding manufacturing methods, materials, and problem resolution Develop manufacturing process with the goal of error proofing assembly process to drive down scrap and rework Drive improvement to manufacturing methods, part routings, bills of material, and material utilization to increase overall manufacturing efficiency Develop detailed Work Instructions to aid in complex assembly steps Support fabrication and assembly operators with technical issues escalating to engineering if required. Participate fully with the engineering and operations teams to develop and execute solutions to product design and process problems As needed, create additional, detailed assembly drawings to minimize the likelihood of errors Participate fully in the change request process Support and help drive safety improvements across the manufacturing areas Actively participate in product design reviews Support and help implement Lean improvements across the manufacturing areas Train operators as needed on new methods and processes Support other company departments and customers as required
Requested Knowledge, Competencies and Abilities:
Associates degree or equivalent experience Must have solid problem solving, decision making, and communication skills Self-motivated Highly organized Good team player Demonstrated leadership skills Understanding of drafting standards, geometric tolerances, and interpretations to various standards Understand process control, capabilities, and various methods of manufacturing preferred Understand CNC machine shop practices, processes, tooling and theory of machining preferred Must have a valid driver's license Must be a US citizen and willing to work on military products
Compensation Data Salary Range:
