Automation Plastics is a custom plastic injection molder in Aurora, Ohio looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer. This role is responsible for leading problem-solving activities, driving mold and equipment improvements, and delivering technical training to personnel. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the

Manufacturing Engineer:

Utilizes engineering knowledge with hands-on technical skills to increase production capabilities by eliminating bottlenecks, downtime, improving cycle times; while ensuring production processes run predictably. Design and drive robust methods, mistake-proofing, and implement root cause analysis to drive process improvement while identifying and eliminating defects at the source. Utilize GMP, Lean tools and Continuous Improvement to improve labor efficiency and standard work; optimize tooling, layouts and ergonomics that result in cost efficiency and enhance our APC Core Values of Teamwork, Optimism, and Safety. Provide operational project management support for New Product Development and Transfer tooling in terms of cellular layout, process control documentation, work instructions and training. Manage manufacturing engineering and process design elements, including RJG methodologies Support project management activities and contribute to successful project execution Other duties as assigned Education /

Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering or related engineering field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-8 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering, preferably in plastic injection molding Knowledge of Electrical and PLC experience is desired

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a manufacturing environment Frequent use of hands and arms for reaching, handling, and operating equipment Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as needed Vision requirements include close, color, peripheral, and depth perception (correctable to 20/40)
