This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative product development programs focused on next-generation surgical technologies. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical design expertise, hands-on product development experience, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Lead product development activities from a mechanical and design engineering perspective within surgical robotics and medical devices Conceptualize, prototype, and evaluate innovative product ideas using simulations, lab testing, and rapid prototyping methods Translate user and business requirements into practical engineering solutions while balancing technical trade-offs Develop test methods, fixtures, and validation systems to support product verification and performance evaluation Analyze engineering data and ensure designs meet performance, quality, and compliance requirements Support product commercialization activities through structured design control processes including feasibility, verification, validation, and product launch Conduct design reviews and communicate technical updates, risks, recommendations, and project progress effectively with stakeholders Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, software, electrical, and systems engineering teams Preferred Experience Experience in the development and commercialization of medical devices, especially surgical products Prior exposure to C&S-related functions is a plus Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills Ability to work independently and make sound engineering decisions in fast-paced environments Experience contributing to collaborative and cross-functional engineering teams Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field 6+ years of product design & development experience (5+ with Master's degree) Strong mechanical design experience including mechanisms, machine components, and interface design Hands-on experience with DFM, prototyping, and manufacturing collaboration Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD tools Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, stress/strain analysis, and DOE Experience with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and risk mitigation Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Exposure to system-level design involving mechanical, electrical, controls, and software integration Willingness to work onsite
