Contract- 6 months Position Summary We are seeking a Controls Engineer to provide controls and electrical engineering support across manufacturing operations. This role will work closely with Maintenance, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to troubleshoot equipment, reduce downtime, improve quality, and support automation initiatives. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically strong, and comfortable troubleshooting PLCs and automated manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced environment. What You'll Do Provide controls and manufacturing engineering support to assigned production areas and plant-wide initiatives. Partner with Maintenance to troubleshoot PLCs, electrical systems, and automated equipment to minimize downtime. Write, create, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs to meet production objectives. Support Quality with customer issues, QRQCs, corrective actions, and quality improvement initiatives . Review and improve processes for safety, quality, and production efficiency . Maintain PFMEA and related downstream documentation for process changes. Provide input into PFMEA development for new programs. Update and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment drawings for Maintenance. Participate in Hoshin, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and other Lean initiatives . Participate in TS16949 and/or
ISO 14001
internal audits as assigned. Support equipment and automation improvements and provide justification for major capital purchases . Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, quality defects, PPMs, and PFMEA risk ratings. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline , OR 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience. Previous manufacturing experience required . Automotive manufacturing experience preferred . Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and programming . Ability to troubleshoot PLC programs and automated equipment . Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and Mechanical . Knowledge of automation technologies, manufacturing equipment, and controls systems.
