Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Intern supports product transfers, new product introduction activities, Lean Six Sigma initiatives, and process standardization across Vertiv manufacturing sites. This role assists in evaluating and improving manufacturing processes, developing documentation, and supporting cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturability, quality, and operational efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support established manufacturing procedures and assist with plant-to-plant product transfers and new product development activities. Assist in implementing standard processes, equipment, and manufacturing methods across Vertiv operations. Participate in identifying and evaluating key advanced manufacturing processes, tools, and technologies. Support cost analysis activities for new and existing products. Assist in developing standardized manufacturing documentation including work instructions, drawings, BOMs, and workmanship standards. Contribute to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma improvement projects across multiple Vertiv sites. Research and help assess new manufacturing technologies and practices. Participate in cross-functional problem-solving teams to support plant performance improvements. Assist in facility layout design, capital project justification, and other business-critical manufacturing initiatives. Support development of manufacturing plans for new product introductions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Working toward a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline. PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office tools. Basic knowledge of CAD platforms (AutoCAD or equivalent). Strong mechanical aptitude. Foundational understanding of assembly and fabrication processes. Basic familiarity with design tools, methods, and emerging technologies. Ability to analyze problems and propose practical solutions. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members at various levels.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of coursework in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies. Exposure to manufacturing processes, CAD, or production systems. PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office tools. Basic knowledge of CAD platforms (AutoCAD or equivalent). Strong mechanical aptitude. Foundational understanding of assembly and fabrication processes. Basic familiarity with design tools, methods, and emerging technologies. Ability to analyze problems and propose practical solutions. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members at various levels.
