Job Description

The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing electrical components. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that meet performance, efficiency, and reliability requirements. Create detailed designs for electrical components and systems, including rotors, stators, windings, and housings, using CAD software. Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal/electromagnetic simulations to optimize motor performance and ensure compliance with design specifications. Develop prototypes and conduct testing to validate designs, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance metrics such as efficiency, torque, and durability. Work closely with manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, meet industry standards, and ensure product specifications meet or exceed expectations. Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and bill of materials (BOM), to support product development and production processes. Identify opportunities to enhance designs for improved efficiency, reduced weight, and lower production costs. Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and environmental regulations. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in design engineering. 2 years focused on electrical design. Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles. Proficiency in CAD software. Experience with FEA tools for structural, thermal, and electromagnetic analysis. Knowledge of motor design principles, including electromagnetic theory, thermal management, and material selection.
