This role will lead automation projects that increase productivity, improve quality, reduce downtime, and support advanced manufacturing initiatives. Responsibilities Design and implement automated manufacturing equipment and production systems Develop and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and motion control systems Program and optimize industrial robots (FANUC, ABB, Yaskawa, etc.) Integrate machine vision systems using Cognex, Keyence, or similar platforms Support equipment installation, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and production launches Troubleshoot automation equipment and perform root cause analysis Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on OEE, cycle time, and equipment reliability Ensure equipment complies with
OSHA, NFPA
79, ANSI, and company safety standards Support Industry 4.0 initiatives including smart manufacturing, predictive maintenance, and automated material handling Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, Industrial Engineering, or a related field Experience 5+ years of automation engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment ideal Technical Skills PLC Programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron) HMI Development Industrial Robotics Machine Vision (Cognex, Keyence) Servo & Motion Control Electrical Controls Pneumatics & Hydraulics AutoCAD Electrical Root Cause Analysis Preferred Rockwell Studio 5000 Siemens TIA Portal Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC-UA SQL, Python, or C# MES Integration Work Environment Manufacturing environment Occasional off-shift support during equipment installations and launches Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
