Manufacturing Engineer II

Responsibilities:

Process responsibility for the assembly of drive units and the remanufacturing program for these products.

A strong emphasis on the introduction of new product/process introduction, as well as providing plant support for drive unit assembly and automated assembly functions.

A strong hands-on ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes.

Experience of automated assembly processes is desired, as well as Lean and Six Sigma project leadership.

Process leadership for drive unit manufacturing, driving to improve existing operations for safety, quality, cost and delivery improvements.

Implementation of new processes, including equipment specification, procurement, coordination of installation, process capability, training, process documentation and production startup.

Assist and/or lead product introduction process with respect to cost estimation, process development, and prototype manufacturing.

Support/optimize assembly production using root cause analysis to identify and eliminate production opportunities.

Develop operator training and be able to support other plant initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

High School graduate or equivalent; with 16+ years of related experience

Must have valid driving privileges

Occasional travel (0-5%)

Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in engineering related field.

Certain technical skills and training such as CAD layout, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), process capability theory and statistical process control (SPC). Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to lead the discussion, meeting, project, etc., and communicate across all levels of the organization.

Must be able to lead cross-functional teams and manage small to medium projects.

Requires good organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to support and mentor Process Technicians, Supervisors, and others.

Experience with pressure decay/differential pressure testing and NVH testing equipment.

Experience with PLC, HMI and control programming/troubleshooting.
