- Work closely with the software development team to define how 4MP logic interacts with machining processes, CAM strategies, and CNC programs
- Evaluate and validate software-generated corrections in real machining environments
- Provide continuous feedback to improve how the platform translates digital intelligence into machining performance
- Collaborate with CNC operators, machinists, and process engineers to test and refine software-driven recommendations
- Run or support real-world machining trials, including toolpath changes, machine settings, and process adjustments
- Ideally, independently set up and execute selected CNC tests to accelerate validation cycles
- Identify where software recommendations are manufacturable, where they need refinement, and where they create measurable value
- Contribute to best practices in CNC programming, CAM strategy, and machining optimization within the platform
- Help standardize machining approaches across different machines, parts, and production environments
Role Nature:
Principal-Level Bridge Between Software & Machining This is a hands-on, high-impact role combining deep machining expertise with system-level thinking. You will not only help define how machining intelligence is built into the platform - you will prove that it works in reality. Your responsibility is to ensure that what is computed digitally can be executed physically, reliably, and repeatedly. Who You Are- Deep expert in machining, CNC programming, and CAM strategy
- Strong understanding of how toolpaths, machine behavior, setups, and cutting conditions interact
- Comfortable working closely with software engineers and translating machining knowledge into system logic
- Highly practical - able to judge whether something will actually work on a machine
- Experienced working with CNC operators and shop-floor teams
- Ideally capable of independently running CNC machines and validating outcomes
- Motivated by solving real-world, high-impact manufacturing problems
- Thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous, early-stage environments Technical Requirements (Must-Have)
- 10+ years of experience in CNC machining, CAM programming, or manufacturing process optimization
- Expert-level knowledge of CNC programming and toolpath strategy
- Deep experience with major CAM platforms (NX CAM, Mastercam, PowerMill, Fusion 360, HyperMill, etc.)
- Strong understanding of feeds & speeds, tool selection, engagement strategies, setups, and machining dynamics
- Proven ability to optimize machining processes for accuracy, stability, repeatability, and cycle time
- Experience troubleshooting machining issues across programming, setup, and process execution
- Strong understanding of high-precision manufacturing environments
- Ability to collaborate effectively with software, data, and engineering teams Strongly Preferred
- Hands-on experience running and testing CNC machines
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical, or other high-precision industries
- Experience in high-mix / low-volume production environments
- Multi-axis machining experience (especially 5-axis)
- Understanding of post-processors, machine kinematics, and controller behavior
- Experience with probing, in-process inspection, or closed-loop manufacturing
- Strong intuition for real-world manufacturability vs theoretical optimization
Experience & Education Required:
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated success improving machining processes in real production environments
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in a related field
- Experience in advanced manufacturing, automation, or digital manufacturing systems Location This role is based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, working closely with physical machines and validation environments.
- Better parts
- More stable processes
- Faster setups
- Higher yield You are the person who closes the loop between code and cutting metal .
Joining now means:
- Defining how software interacts with real manufacturing
- Building something that has never been done at this level
- Working at the intersection of AI, physics, and machining
- Having a direct impact on how the next generation of factories operates
