Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a Controls Engineer to support the design, development, implementation, and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment and control systems within a manufacturing environment. This position will work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and Production teams to improve equipment reliability, automation performance, and overall manufacturing efficiency. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PLC programming, industrial controls, electrical systems, and automated manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities Design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based control systems and automated equipment. Develop and modify PLC and HMI programs to support production and process improvements. Troubleshoot electrical, controls, instrumentation, and automation issues on manufacturing equipment. Support installation, commissioning, startup, and validation of new equipment and control systems. Work with production and maintenance teams to identify equipment issues and implement corrective actions. Develop electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and related technical documentation. Support integration of sensors, motors, drives, servos, robotics, and other automated equipment. Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, cycle time, productivity, and process efficiency. Assist with capital equipment projects, upgrades, and automation initiatives. Maintain documentation related to controls systems, programming changes, equipment modifications, and troubleshooting procedures. Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production personnel as needed. Ensure controls and electrical systems comply with applicable safety and manufacturing standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field preferred. Experience working with PLC programming and industrial automation systems. Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms. Experience with HMI programming and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of electrical controls, sensors, motors, VFDs, relays, and industrial instrumentation. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings. Hands-on troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment and production machinery. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and Production teams. Additional Information This is a hands-on engineering position within a manufacturing environment. The Controls Engineer will play a key role in supporting existing equipment while also helping implement new automation and process improvement projects.
Pay:
$110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
